The title is a reference to something totally unrelated.

I’m not sure that the person who would get the reference still reads this.

In any case, I spoke to an old friend, who I speak to so rarely it’s almost like a guilty pleasure.  I’d liken it to somewhere between having a hidden box of top notch chocolate that you eat one at a time as a rare indulgence, and seeing an uncommonly beautiful sunset age into the twilight.

No matter the rareness of the occasion, there’s an innate connection somehow.  It’s definitely something  to be savoured.  One of the things, I enjoy is having my heart broken.  Typically, that would be a bad thing.  Sometimes though it’s done in such a way, it’s a bittersweet indulgence.  It’s like eating that last chocolate.  It feels so good but hurts when it’s gone.  That might sound like a weak metaphor, but that’s only because you’ve never had chocolate worthy of a broken heart.  Nor perhaps a friend that can bring that same bittersweet joy to the end of a night.

1. Who was your FIRST prom date? I chose not to go to prom

2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love? No

3. What was your 1st alcoholic drink? Rye and Coke, or Labatt Blue I imagine, my dad drank those, and I had a sip and remember strongly disliking it.

4. What was your FIRST job? I was a DJ, but the first sort of steady job was in an auto body shop.

5. What was your FIRST car? A blue 1994 GMC Safari, it was the family car and it got passed to me when my parents bought something new.  It had well over 300,000km on it and had been to every province aside from newfoundland and about 20 or so states.  It blew the rear differential within two weeks of owning it.  Aside from that it taught me a lot about power sliding and driving large vehicles.  The first car I bought was a White 1999 Chevy Metro.  For a car with a spec sheet barren of any performance promise it was a lot of fun.  Both the Van and the Metro have been the scenes of incredibly fun times.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?  Depends on how you define morning, the morning that just started a couple hours ago, that old friend I mention above.  The morning before that, I was thinking of the person who’s house I was leaving after watching some movies.

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher? Mrs. White.

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? First was one of my Dad’s friends when I was really little we flew over our house in a small plane.  For a commercial flight it’d be Vegas though.

10. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk? Steven Piggot, and no.

11. Where was your FIRST sleep over? I’m not really sure, probably somewhere on rokeby, or maybe a cousins.

12. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today? Same answer as the morning question.

13. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? Never happened

14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?  Hmmm, this morning that I’m in I haven’t got up to much yet, the previous morning I watched passchendaele and drove home on the uncleared snowy roads.

15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to? I went to a bunch of local bands, I always have, but Diamond Rio in Port Huron at McMoran arena when I was about 10 or so.

18. First foreign country you’ve been to? United States, but since that’s pretty boring the Bahamas was next.

19. FIRST movie you remember seeing? Winnie the Pooh

20. When was your FIRST detention? I got a lot of those, probably grade 2 or 3.

22. Who was your FIRST roommate? Probably a guy named Will, we lived together for about a month or so.

23. If you had one wish, what would it be? The same thing I always wish for, there’s maybe one person that has an idea what that is.

24. What is something you would learn if you had the chance? I’d never turn down a chance to learn.  I’m terrible that way.
